Civic Ballet of Volusia County, Inc. (CBVC) is a 501(C)(3) non-profit organization. The company's mission is to promote the art of ballet and to cultivate a community appreciation of the ballet and of all other forms of dance.
CBVC is a community organization, bringing choreographers and studio owners from local
dance schools to collaborate together and to create a unique experience for the dancers and the audiences. CBVC
provides children and young adults from throughout the region a chance
to perform in a production of the Nutcracker based solely on their
talent and level of achievement, regardless of their town or studio
affiliation. All roles for the production are cast from audition or by
invitation. The CBVC enhances
the lives of hundreds of area outreach children by bringing dance to
them through our NUTCRACKER performances and Community Outreach
Programs. Some of our partnerships include providing tickets to shows
and free dance classes to children from Food Brings Hope, Volusia Foster
Care Families, Girl Scouts of Citrus Council, PACE Center for Girls,
Title One, and others. The CBVC enhances and expands the greater Daytona
Beach area's cultural scene while supporting and rewarding our young
people's talents and accomplishments.
To continue to serve our community, we added a spectacular two-day spring event, The Festival of Dance, as an additional avenue to promote dance and foster love of the arts to all children in our community. We bring in exceptional Master Guest Instructors in multiple dance genres for master classes and invite the local dance schools to showcase their talent in the Festival performance.
We are pleased to announce the selection of Mr. Jerome DeVito as the Artistic Director to start the 2018 season.
